*On September 15, 1967 a second son was born to a young mother. He grew up in his grandparents and great-grandmother’s care. His life was filled with school, family and church. His grandmother made sure that every Sunday, he, along with his older brother, was in Burning Bush Baptist Church, in St. Louis, MO.

*Deacon Houston was educated in the Catholic school system in St. Louis, MO. He attended Cardinal Ritter College Prep High School and after graduation he found a home at Xavier University of LA, majoring in Music. He graduated in 1990 with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and in 2002 with a Master of Arts in Elementary Education with a concentration in Principalship. He found his soul mate; Erica M. Nealy and they married in May 1990, bringing into the world two children, Kyle Wesley and Kayla J’Net.

*Deacon Houston has been educating young people since 1990 when first began teaching at St. Peter Claver Catholic school, then moving to St. Monica Catholic School for six years and finally returning to St. Peter Claver were he has served as a home room teacher, Middle School Math and Technology teacher , Vice-Principal for thirteen years and currently as Principal.

*December 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Lawrence C. Houston had hands laid upon him and prayers lifted and put on the stole of the Permanent Diaconate. His class’ ordination was the first Permanent Diaconate Ordination for Archbishop Gregory M.  Aymond in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He simply wants to be recognized as” a Black Man trying to live for Jesus!”
